Also: -는 것처럼 · -는 것과 마찬가지로

Grammar rules
- Interchangeable with '-는 것처럼'.
- Can also be shortened to '-듯' (dropping '이').
- Used naturally in both spoken and written language.
- Also used with phrases like '너도 알듯이' (as you also know...) to confirm shared knowledge.
- It is also used in many fixed idiomatic expressions in Korean.
비 오듯이 땀이 흐르다 (Sweat pours like rain = to sweat profusely) / 불 보듯이 뻔하다 (As obvious as seeing fire)
- When used with '앞에서 말씀드렸듯이' or '너도 알듯이', it frames shared or prior knowledge.
앞에서도 설명했듯이 이 문법은 동사에만 붙습니다. (As I explained before, this grammar only attaches to verbs.)
