Grammar rules
- It implies 'It was practically [X]' or 'It was so close to [X] that it's the same.' It exaggerates the degree of an action.
- When '-다시피' is used alone (without '하다'), it confirms something the listener already knows—similar to '듯이' in that context.
- When used in a passive sense to refer to a current situation, use '-다시피 하고 있다' instead of '-다시피 한다'.
갑자기 내린 폭설로 이 부근 도로는 마비되다시피 하고 있다. (Due to sudden heavy snow, roads in this area are at a virtual standstill.)
- '-다시피' alone (without '하다') is used to confirm shared knowledge, similar to '-듯이'.
