에서~까지 / 부터~까지

Used to express the starting point and ending point of a place or time. '에서...까지' designates a spatial range (from place to place), while '부터...까지' designates a temporal range (from time to time).

Grammar rules

  • Attach '에서' (from) and '까지' (to) to place nouns.
  • Attach '부터' (from/starting at) and '까지' (to/until) to time nouns.
  • '까지' (up to/until) can be used on its own.
  • For starting times, '에서' is sometimes used in spoken Korean, but '부터' is grammatically correct.
