Grammar rules

  • Use '읍시다' for verb stems ending in a consonant.
  • Use 'ㅂ시다' for verb stems ending in a vowel.
  • Do not use with adjectives.
  • Avoid using '-(으)ㅂ시다' with people older or of higher status than you. Instead, use '-(으)실래요?' (Would you like to...?) or '-같이 -아/어요' (Let's together).

    선생님, 같이 밥을 먹읍시다 (X) -> 선생님, 같이 식사하시겠어요? (O) (Teacher, would you like to eat together?)
