Grammar rules

  • Attach directly to the verb stem regardless of whether it ends in a vowel or consonant.
  • It is mainly used with the first-person subject ('I' or 'We').
  • It sounds very formulaic, assertive, and formal compared to '-(으)ㄹ 거예요' or '-(으)ㄹ게요'. It is often used in formal settings like announcements or news.

지금부터 회의를 시작하겠습니다. (I will begin the meeting now.)
