Summary
Equivalent

Also: -기 위해서 (Time/Money)이/가 필요하다 (To need time/money in order to - slightly different nuance)
Example

학교에 가는 데 30분이 걸려요.
Grammar rules
- Use '걸리다' for time (e.g., 시간, 일, 달, 년).
- Use '들다' for money or effort (e.g., 돈, 비용).
- The '데' acts as a dependent noun meaning 'the act/circumstance of', so it is preceded by a space and '-는'.
- The subject markers 이/가 or 은/는 often follow the time/money word.
책을 읽는 데 이틀이 걸렸어요. (It took two days to read the book.)
