-(으)ㄹ 테니까
Used when the first clause provides a strong supposition or the speaker's firm intention as the reason for a command or suggestion in the second clause.
Summary
Equivalent
Since I will... / Since it is expected to...
Also: -(으)ㄹ 것이기 때문에 (Because it will be... - Less conversational, no implication of speaker's will)
Example
I will bring the camera, so don't worry.
제가 카메라를 가져갈 테니까 걱정하지 마세요.
Grammar rules
- With first-person subject = intention.
- With third-person or adjective = strong guess as reason.
- The second clause usually ends in -(으)세요, -(으)ㅂ시다, or -(으)ㄹ까요?.
- Unlike '-(으)ㄹ 텐데' which provides soft background context, '-(으)ㄹ 테니까' provides a clear CAUSE or REASON.
제가 청소할 테니까 수미 씨는 요리하세요. (I will clean, so Sumi, please cook.)
